Reservation Cancellation Policy
When we reserve a campsite or cabin for you we actually take it off the market at your request. A family may make a reservation in March for the 3rd week in July. We then have thousands of requests from people looking for tent sites, popup sites, RV sites and cabin rentals. On occasion, some people either cancel the day they are scheduled to arrive or don't bother to call to cancel... they just don't show up! Therefore, effective January 30, 2012, the following Cancellation Policy is in effect
To reserve a Cabin we require a $250.00 deposit (per week). If you reserve and then need
to cancel, you will forfeit your deposit, unless we are able to rent the
unit out. If this happens your deposit will be refunded, less a $25.00
If you reserve a Motorhome site, a Water and Electric site, a Pop-up
Camper site or a Tent site, we require a deposit of $75.00 (or total payment, if less than $75.00) for less than a week, or $125.00 (or total payment, if less than $125.00) if reserving for a week, or more. For two weeks, you should expect to pay a double deposit. Should you
need to cancel your reservation, and you give us at least 21 days notice,
the cancellation fee is $25.00. (Your deposit minus the $25.00 fee will be returned to you.) (See info on Rain Checks below). If you cancel with less than 21 days notice, you will forfeit your deposit.
If you reserve more than one site, we require a deposit for each site that you have reserved. Should you need to cancel your reservation, and you give us at least 21 days notice, the cancellation fee is $25.00 for each site. (Your deposit minus the $25.00 fee for each site will be returned to you.) (See info on Rain Checks below). If you cancel with less than 21 days notice, you will forfeit your deposit for all of the sites you reserved.
If you have reserved a site and you do not show up before noon the day following and do not call to inform us that you will be unable to occupy the site the first day of your reservation, the site will be considered available for rental. You will forfeit your deposit. Further, the site may be occupied and another site may not be available.
NOTE: Any changes to your reservation must be in writing and acknowledged in writing by Bass Harbor Campground. Use fax if time is of the essence. Our fax number is 207-244-9316.
Rain Checks: If you give Bass Harbor Campground 21 days, or more, notice of your intent to cancel, you may save the $25.00 cancellation fee by requesting a "Rain Check". In this case, a Rain Check for the full amount of the deposit will be provided. However, the Rain Check must be used during the same Camping Season as when it was issued. I.e., if you receive a Rain Check for a 2013 Reservation, you must use the Rain Check in 2013.
The Rain Check will not carry over to 2014. Rain Checks are not transferrable. Rain Checks will be issued to the name on the original Reservation.
If, when you arrive at Bass Harbor Campground, you decide to shorten the length of your reserved stay, you will still be responsible for the full amount of your reservation. If you have reserved additional sites for friends and/or family and decide you don't need the additional site(s), you will still be responsible for the full amount of your original reservation of all the sites and total number of days rented. Therefore, as soon as you are aware of any changes you would be prudent to call three-weeks before your arrival date to avoid losing your deposit and site charges.
If you should decide to leave Bass Harbor Campground early before the completion of your reservation you are still responsible for your site charges and will be charged the full amount of the reservation for the total number of days you reserved. If, after you leave, we are able to rent your site we will reimburse your charge card with a credit.
Quiet hours at Bass Harbor Campground are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and are stricly enforced! Small campfires and quiet conversation are permitted, but courtesy for others around your campsite is paramount. Those who cannot be quiet during the quiet hours should consider camping elsewhere.
|AT NO TIME WILL BON FIRES BE ALLOWED!|
If you choose to stay at Bass Harbor Campground you must observe the rules or be prepared to forfeit the charges for your entire stay. These few rules are in place to protect you from inconsiderate people and you may be assured that your stay "on the quiet side" will be just that.
